Volvo cars.
1.
Very very bad resale value.
2. Bad aftersale service
and rip-off (very expensive and job poorly done or the
problems never got fixed) service centres. Even worse for
those in the upcountry areas or provices.
3. Unskilled
technicians. Especially the ones at Huamark and Sukhumvit.
Huamark was used to train those new technicians and therefore
your cars would be used for their experiments. Again, even
worse for those service centres in the upcountry areas. Their
technicians are as dumb as a donkey.
4. The best
service centre in my opinion was at Phaholyothin. They were
the best because my friend's wife worked there and knew the
technicians. And some of them were quite to very
experienced.
5. Newer Volvo engines are more powerful
because they had some other companies, one of them was Porche
I think, design the engines for them. Still, the road handling
and cornering still cannot match that of BMW of the same
class. I have no idea about MB, though.
To summarise, I
will never ever buy a Volvo again. Now, very fortunately,
after BMW operation has been taken over by BMW Germany the
costs of genuine BMW parts have dropped a lot and there are
some good service centres, which there never were while still
under Yontrakit's management.
One among the best BMW's
service centres would be Keng Hong Thong on Charansanitwong
Rd.
But still if I had to buy a new car, if a Japanese
one, it would either have to be a Honda or a Toyota or, if a
European one, it'd have to be an MB.
But the current
car purchase trend in my family, it seems like my next new car
is gonna be a Toyota. :D Ex-Volvo
